Maybe your child gets anxious just hearing the word “dentist.” Maybe you’re tired of taking time off work or pulling your kids out of school for a mid-afternoon appointment. Or maybe you’re dealing with a dental emergency right now and just need somewhere that can see your child today.
Whatever brought you here, our team specializes in making dental visits feel easy for kids, not scary, while giving you the scheduling flexibility busy families actually need.
"My child is terrified of the dentist."
"I want a dentist who explains everything before they do it."
"I need a Saturday appointment so my kids don't miss school."
"My son needs a tooth pulled and I don't know where to go."
If any of that sounds familiar, you're in the right place. Our team takes the time to walk your child through every step, and we hold same-day and Saturday openings specifically for families who can't wait weeks for an appointment.
Most children need regular dental exams and cleanings, preventive care like fluoride and sealants when appropriate, and treatment if cavities or other problems develop. These visits also give your dentist a chance to monitor your child’s teeth and jaw as they grow and help them build healthy habits from an early age.
Most dentists, including our team, recommend a first visit by your child's first birthday, or within six months of their first tooth coming in. Starting early helps kids get comfortable with the dentist before there's ever a problem to fix.
Just like adults, most kids should be seen every six months, starting from their very first tooth. We'll let you know if your child needs to come in more often for any reason.
Positive dental experiences can make a difference for years to come. A patient, gentle approach helps your child feel more comfortable while building healthy habits and confidence around dental visits.
Toothache, broken tooth, or knocked-out tooth? Call us and we’ll help you understand what to do next and get your child the care they need.

Insurance coverage varies by plan. We recommend calling us with your insurance information so we can confirm your benefits before your visit.
Here’s what pediatric care at Bright Smile Dental does for your family:

Our team walks kids through every step before it happens, so visits feel predictable instead of scary.

The same team that treats your kids can treat you too, so you're not juggling separate offices and separate appointments.

You don't have to choose between your child's dental care and missing work or school.

Regular checkups mean small issues get caught and treated before they turn into bigger, more painful ones.

A calm, positive experience now sets your child up to feel comfortable at the dentist for the rest of their life.

Accidents happen. When they do, you'll have a same-day appointment, not a scramble to find someone who can see your child that day.

WHAT OUR PATIENTS SAY
850+ five-star ratings on Google. Here’s what a few patients had to say about their experience:
Friendly staff that are always willing to help. They’re very accommodating and put my anxious son at ease. My kids especially love the Canes coupons for having no cavities.
My wife took our two sons to Bright Smile Dental today, and she said the experience was excellent. Our younger son, Julian, had one of his front teeth pulled, and everything went very smoothly. The staff was kind, patient, and professional, making the kids feel comfortable the whole time. We’re very happy with the care they received and highly recommend Bright Smile Dental!
The staff at Bright Smile is great to my whole family! Today, both my kids and I were scheduled. There was a gap between their cleanings and mine, but one of the hygienists had some extra time and squeezed me in while the kids were taken care of so I didn’t have to come back later. Such an unexpected accommodation for a busy mom!
Awesome service and an amazing team! I met wonderful staff members—Vy, Alexis, and Edith—who worked with both me and my kids. They made the children feel completely at ease and explained every step before administering anything, which I truly appreciated.
The doctor I met, who is also the owner, spoke to me as if I were one of his own children—so comforting and reassuring. There was also a particular doctor who removed one my daughter’s wisdom tooth while she was in excruciating pain but his bedside manner was exceptional. He was kind, nurturing, and asked her thoughtful, intelligent questions during the process to make her not to focus on the tooth that is being removed. You’d think they were family or had known each other for years.
His professionalism, along with the rest of the staff who cared for us today, was truly top-notch. I highly recommend this practice!

We recommend starting regular visits just after your child’s third birthday. Early visits let our team catch potential issues sooner and help your child build comfort with going to the dentist.
We’re a general and family practice, so children are seen right alongside the rest of the family in our Powell office — there’s no separate office or transfer needed as your child grows.
A first visit typically includes a gentle exam, a look at how their teeth and bite are developing, and a conversation about home care. We keep early visits low-pressure so your child leaves with a positive impression.
Exams, X-rays to monitor tooth development and check for decay, cleanings, topical fluoride treatments, and dental sealants on decay-prone back teeth, along with guidance on habits like thumb-sucking.
Sealants are a thin protective coating applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth, where cavities are most likely to start. We’ll let you know during your child’s exam whether sealants make sense for their teeth.
That depends on their individual risk for cavities and how much fluoride they’re already getting at home. We’ll check on this at routine visits and let you know what we recommend.
We take a patient, low-pressure approach — explaining what we’re doing in kid-friendly terms and pacing the visit around their comfort. Reading a book about going to the dentist or talking positively about the visit beforehand can also help at home.
Cavities are common in kids and very treatable. We’ll explain exactly what we found, walk you through the recommended treatment, and answer any questions before moving forward.
Yes. Along with checking for decay, we monitor how permanent teeth are coming in and flag anything — like crowding, bite issues, or habits such as thumb-sucking — that may need attention as your child grows.
We frequently work with major carriers including United Healthcare, Aetna, Anthem, Guardian, MetLife, and Humana. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend calling us with your insurance information before your child’s visit so we can confirm benefits.
Healthy habits now build a lifetime of healthy smiles.
